Good News: Falcons Sign a contract with a new Star.

Bralen Trice, the Atlanta Falcons’ third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, will compete against Lorenzo Carter for a starting EDGE position opposite Arnold Ebiketie.

Trice, drafted 74th overall, signed a four-year rookie contract projected at $5,929,730, including a $1,132,532 signing bonus. He comes from a productive collegiate career with the Washington Huskies, where he played five seasons, appearing in 40 games with 29 starts.

Trice amassed 101 tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss (TFLs), 18 sacks, and one forced fumble. His 2023 season was particularly notable, as he started all 15 games, recording 49 tackles, 11.5 TFLs, seven sacks, and earning an 88.1 Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade, with a remarkable 90.8 pass-rush grade.

In comparison, Lorenzo Carter played 17 games for the Falcons in 2023, starting one, and recorded 35 tackles, six TFLs, three sacks, 21 pressures, and a PFF grade of 67.0.

Given Trice’s impressive collegiate stats and strong PFF grades, he has a solid chance to secure the starting role, particularly given the Falcons’ long-standing struggles with their pass rush, ranking poorly in sacks and pass rush win rate over the past three seasons.

Head coach Raheem Morris emphasized the importance of continually adding pass rush talent to the roster, reflecting the team’s strategic focus on improving their ability to affect the quarterback.

Trice’s competition with Carter for the starting job will be pivotal in the Falcons’ efforts to revitalize their pass rush and defensive effectiveness .
