Newcastle Think Of most important thing that Could happen To Bruno Guimaraes this summer

If the summer transfer window closes and Bruno Guimaraes is still at St James’ Park, it could easily be considered their best bit of business.

That is how important the 26-year-old is, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid showing an interest in signing him. To make matters more worrying, he has a £100million release clause in his contract.

There have been plenty of fears that Newcastle will need to sell Bruno, with the club possibly needing to cash in on someone to boost their position regarding profit and sustainability.

Bruno Guimaraes staying at Newcastle United looks more likely

But it has recently been reported that Bruno could be convinced to stay at St James’ Park for at least one more year.

And improvements on the pitch will have helped too, with Newcastle suddenly back in the race to qualify for Europe. With six games to go, there is still a decent chance that the Magpies could be in the Europa League next season. And our hopes will be boosted if Manchester City advance in the FA Cup this weekend.

Bruno has been very open about his desire to stay at Newcastle United, but obviously the club needs to match his ambitions. Fortunately, a decision they recently made behind the scenes is believed to have increased the chances of Bruno remaining on Tyneside

Contract announcement could help keep Bruno Guimaraes at St James’ Park

According to the Athletic, a recent announcement that Newcastle United made will make Bruno more likely to remain where he is.

They state that Joelinton extending his Newcastle contract is massively important, as the club would have needed to sell him this summer had he not re-signed, due to his previous deal being set to expire in 2025. He would have been sold, with Newcastle needing to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing

And if Joelinton had been sold, Bruno would have been more likely to leave.

But Joelinton will not be sold now, and the Athletic state that senior Newcastle figures are no longer as worried as they were in January about the prospect of losing Bruno at the end of the season

The report adds that the club’s hope that Bruno will stay for another year is growing, with clubs like PSG giving no indication that they will activate his £100million release clause in the coming months.

Joelinton staying at Newcastle is doubly important

Obviously, it is excellent that Joelinton is staying because he is a brilliant player. He has been a massive miss this season, with the 27-year-old suffering from a hamstring problem then undergoing thigh surgery.

It would have been incredibly difficult to replace him, so it is great to know that he is staying put. Eddie Howe is delighted, and rightly so.

As is Bruno, who was imploring the club to reach an agreement before Joelinton signed on the dotted line.

Now Joelinton is staying, and it could also help keep Bruno. The pair have struck up a brilliant relationship on and off the pitch, and their bond in black and white could now continue next season thanks to Joelinton signing a new contract with the club.
