Newcastle supporters gave their verdict on the Adidas designs as leaks emerged

Supporters are torn after leaked images emerged of Newcastle United’s kits for the 2024-25 campaign.

Adidas are set to take over as manufacturer from next season, with Toon chiefs ending their agreement with Castore a year early. The German sports giants previously supplied Newcastle between 1995 and 2010.

Nostalgic football fans are hoping for epic designs akin to those worn during the “Entertainers era” under Kevin Keegan. Famous styles included the iconic grandad-collar shirt from 1995-97.

Puma and Castore have shared the honours since Adidas and the Magpies went their separate ways over a decade ago. Frustrations had grown among supporters about the lack of quality and delivery time from British brand Castore.

Adidas signed a £40million “multi-year deal” with Newcastle – an influx of cash that will bolster the FFP/PSR coffers. However, fans are divided after images emerged claiming to leak the upcoming shirt – set to be released on June 7.

Popular social media account Gallowgate Shots posted a home kit they “believe to be 95 per cent accurate”. Notable changes include ditching the red numbers that have been adopted throughout the club’s history and continuously since 2017.

Newcastle’s badge from 1976 to 1983 also appears emblazoned on the back of the neck. However, fans were far from unanimous once the proposed home shirt went viral.
