Richarlison sends a clear message to clearify issues

Former Everton forward Richarlison has sent a two-word message to Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines, posting an image from his time at Goodison Park on social media.

The Brazilian spent four years as an Evertonian, making 152 appearances in Everton colours and notching 53 goals and 13 assists, becoming a fan-favourite in Merseyside.

Despite signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2022, the love between Richarlison and the Everton fans has not been lost, and the player’s love for his former club is still evident too.

Taking to his Instagram story on Friday (12 April), Richarlison posted an image of himself with Coleman and Baines with the caption: “The kings”.

Richarlison loves Everton, and Everton loves Richarlison

The 26-year-old was one of the most prolific strikers in Everton’s recent history, though that is not a difficult feat against Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto this season.

He has continued his brilliant form for Spurs, finally discovering his best position under Ange Postecoglou, netting 10 goals in the Premier League so far.

Everton could certainly do with a forward with Richarlison’s calibre currently, with the club hoping to avoid relegation having staved off the drop in the previous two campaigns, while also battling against points deductions.

The image he posted is certainly a sad one, with only Coleman still playing his football at Goodison Park while Richarlison has moved on and Baines has retired.

The Irishman is likely to be the next of the trio to hang up his boots, suffering from multiple spells on the sidelines through injuries at the age of 35, meaning that he has only started four league matches this season.

Though there are no signs of Coleman ending his career, the club captain will be hoping that he can be part of the squad that keeps Everton in the top tier of English football, despite the ongoing troubles at Goodison Park.
