Newcastle United’s kits will be manufactured by Adidas from next season with excitement rising over what the new strips for the 2024/25 season could look like.

The club have been with Castro since 2021. That deal, which was agreed under previous owner Mike Ashley, was set to run until 2026, but it was announced last year that the deal would be cut short and a deal with Adidas was agreed.

It’s a return to a manufacturer the club knows well with the company supplying Newcastle’s kits for 15 years between 1995 and 2010. The multi-year deal is also a boost to the club’s finances amid Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) worries.

The return of Adidas comes as well as a revamp of the club’s shop at the end of the season. A temporary outlet will be built opposite while the refurbishment goes on during the summer.

The current international break give fans and clubs time to take stock and look ahead to the current season. The Adidas deal has prompted excitement among supporters with speculation growing over what the new kits could look like.

Therefore, ChronicleLive has taken a look at the ‘leaks’ doing the rounds. There could be some hints in the upcoming Euro tournament with shirts being released.

Kit details leaked

Back in December, Newcastle shirt collector Retro_NUFC shared some information on the new kit on social media. From that, website, Footy Headlines shared some concept kits.

The 2024/25 home kit was said to be similar to the 2001/2003 kit with simple black and white stripes and a V-neck design. Grey is said to be the colour that could be used for the Adidas logo, collar and panels on the side and back of the shirt.

The away kit will be similar to that of the 1995/96 away strip. Concepts show a round neck with blue and burgundy horizontal stripes going across the shirt.

Pictures hint at the possible colours for the third kit being mainly white with black and green accents. It is said to be inspired by the Adidas EQT style with the company using the Newcastle badge of the 1980s, providing another hint as to what the kit could look like.

Another way to get hints over what could possibly be in line for Newcastle under Adidas is by taking a look at some of the international shirts released by the company ahead of Euro 2024.

All of the international kits, including Spain, Germany, Belgium and Italy feature colour detail on the edge of the side panel of the shirts in both the home and away kits. For Germany it’s black on a simple white kit, and for Spain, yellow on a simple red shirt.

As with most teams, the away kit has allowed some more creativity. For Germany, there is a colour fade from pink to blue, while Scotland, Spain and Wales all have more pattern design on the side panel of the away shirts.
