Hopefully’… Nuno prayer For A Desperate Star

So, what has Forest head coach Espirito Santo had to say about the injury sustained by Wood? Let’s take a closer look…

Nuno Espirito Santo shares details of Chris Wood injury

Well, it would be seriously detrimental if Wood was to suffer a serious injury problem on the same day that it came to light that Taiwo Awoniyi was injured again.

Wood scored again yesterday to take his Forest tally for the season to 10. Now, it would appear as though Forest face an anxious wait to discover details of the latest problem.

Espirito Santo is praying that it’s not something too serious – and he was quizzed on the potential issue after the game had finished yesterday.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “He has to be assessed. He was feeling something, so it was a precaution. Hopefully, it’s nothing.”

Forest need Wood fit for remainder of the season

Wood has been the surprise star of the year from a Forest perspective. He was written off by some supporters but he’s rammed their harsh words down their throats.

He’s now in double figures for the campaign and hopefully, there is more to come.

Wood has stepped up brilliantly for Forest in the absence of Awoniyi and for that, he deserves praise.

If the 32-year-old is going to be out of action for any period of time, it would leave Forest desperately short in attack.

As a result, the hope will be that yesterday was nothing more than a bit of fatigue and Wood can be ready to go when Forest play Crystal Palace next time out.
