Crystal Palace new injury update
Crystal Palace’s injury list has claimed its latest victim as one star forward has picked up an injury while in Marbella.
This season, Crystal Palace have suffered from an extensive injury list which has been damaging to the club’s performances.
With Michael Olise and Marc Guehi both currently out but expected back in a few weeks, they’ve been joined by £84k-a-week man Odsonne Edouard.
The French striker is expected to now miss multiple weeks but with such a long break in games anyway, it hasn’t come at a bad time.
Here’s what we know about the injury to Palace’s striker…
Odsonne Edouard injured for weeks
On Thursday just before the Bodo/Glimt friendly, it was reported by journalist Edmund Brack that Edouard had picked up an injury while in training with Palace in Marbella.
He explained that Palace are expecting the Frenchman to be sidelined for the next couple of weeks.
This will be a massive blow for the player after he was heard being praised by Oliver Glasner during Wednesday’s session.
It also hands Jean-Philippe Mateta the lead in the two battling for minutes up-front for the Eagles.
Little time for Edouard to prove his worth to Glasner so Crystal Palace exit could be likely
Edouard has already hinted at his future being outside of Selhurst Park and with there being little doubt that Glasner will want a striker this summer he could get his wish.
January saw plenty of forwards linked with Palace and while none were ultimately signed, we’d be surprised if this remained the case this summer.
Edouard will likely be on his way out, having already seemingly been chosen as second choice by Glasner who has started Mateta in every game so far.
