Wyness claims that Brendan Rodgers is on borrowed time at Celtic and it’s not a happy ship
Former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness has insisted Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is “on borrowed time” and could be sacked this summer.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested Rodgers could be replaced within a year or two even if he wins the Scottish Premiership title this term
Celtic trail Rangers by two points in the race for the Scottish Premiership title, despite the Hoops beating their Old Firm rivals twice this term.
Rodgers’ side were also dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage, picking up four points from a possible 18.
It’s not a happy ship at Celtic’, says Wyness
Football Insider revealed on Sunday (10 March) that Celtic do not consider the Northern Irishman a long-term manager of the club.
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I wouldn’t be surprised to see a change in manager in the off-season. I don’t know if Rodgers was the right pick.
