The Scottish Sun have shared “brutal news” regarding the fitness of Rangers striker Zak Lovelace on 6 March.

Playing in a friendly against Royal Antwerp in Belgium, the 18-year-old lasted just 18 minutes for the B Team before he had to be taken off.

He then had to undergo treatment with the seriousness of the injury still to be revealed.

Lovelace was desperate to return to the Rangers senior side

Lovelace’s journey with the club has been plagued by misfortune.

After impressing during a match against St Mirren, he suffered a serious hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for almost six months.

Just as he was making his comeback in a B-team clash, tragedy struck again and despite playing for the first team previously, his progress was hindered.

Despite his eagerness to regain form and fitness, Lovelace was forced off the field after only 18 minutes due to injury.

This setback is particularly devastating considering his contract is set to expire in the summer, leaving him with limited time to prove himself to Philippe Clement.

With several key players already sidelined, Lovelace had a golden opportunity to make his mark, but luck hasn’t been on his side.

Rangers fans will hope that his injury is not too severe, allowing him to bounce back and fulfil his potential in the future.
