Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will already have one eye on potential summer arrivals as he continues to shape his squad at Parkhead.

Since the Irishman’s return to the Bhoys last summer, there has been no shortage of conversation about the team’s finances, with many of his new additions drawing criticism for their lack of impact in green and white since joining the team.

However, change may occur in that regard following news that Mark Lawwell and Joe Dudgeon have been placed on gardening leave after resigning from their respective posts.

Both chiefs will have no input in planning for future transfer activity, and it remains to be seen who will be identified to provide Celtic with a fresh approach to recruitment.

Reports surrounding the situation claim Lawwell may have been looking to seek his next challenge partly because Ange Postecoglou is no longer at Parkhead.

Either way, Rodgers needs to be granted the best opportunity to acquire suitable individuals to help rebuild his squad, which is likely to undergo a summer reshuffle.

Previously, the 51-year-old has implied that bringing ‘quality’ additions into the fold is a main priority, signifying that whoever is chosen to succeed Lawwell must come with the requisite tools to grant Rodgers his wish.

Celtic now monitoring Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare

According to Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse, Celtic are believed to be among a clutch of clubs keen on Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare, who is out of contract at the end of this season.

Scouts from three La Liga clubs were in attendance to watch the 25-year-old in action away to West Bromwich Albion last weekend, where on-loan Bhoy Mikey Johnston opened the scoring for the hosts, who went on to defeat Coventry 2-1 at the Hawthorns Stadium NETSPORT

Our arch-rivals are also rumoured to be sniffing around the Solihull-born playmaker. O’Hare is free to agree terms with foreign clubs due to being in the final months of his deal in the West Midlands.

This term, the former England Under-20 international has been in excellent form for the Sky Blues, registering nine goals and four assists in 24 appearances [Transfermarkt].

Celtic will already have their eye on summer reinforcements

Like most sides, Celtic will already have their sights set on future reinforcements, and O’Hare would add a layer of versatility to Rodgers’ engine room if he is indeed a target.

According to Sofascore, the midfielder has shown his capacity to be a reliable goal threat, taking on 1.3 shots per Sky Bet Championship fixture alongside laying on four big chances this campaign.

Defensively, his statistics stand up to scrutiny, taking into account the fact he has won an average of 1.1 tackles and made 3.6 ball recoveries per game on league duty.

The Sun claim Fulham, Everton, and Southampton are also keeping tabs on his situation, indicating that the Bhoys may face a battle to secure his services this summer.
