Union Bears unveil one-word Rangers banner as players & fans set for title race
The Union Bears unveiled a one-word banner during Rangers’ defiant win over Hearts as they get set for the title run-in.
As their side turned on the style on the park by absolutely thumping their visitors who are currently the third best side in the country, the ultras group brought out a large sign which read simply “together.” It’s a sign of the good feeling at Ibrox just now a week on from the team going clear of Celtic at the top of the Premiership.
Today’s performance and result was defiant and another message that the Light Blues are up for the fight and the run-in. And manager Philippe Clement spoke after the game of the amazing atmosphere, insisting it was the best “synergy” he’s seen with the support during his time at the club.
Players applauded the fans and the banner and the manager insists the atmosphere was electric from the first whistle.
He said: “For sure the best synergy with the fans. The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing from the first second to the last. And five really good goals, so the highest score until now so that is also positive.”
Opposing manager Steven Naismith admitted his side were spooked by the atmosphere, explaining: “Going into the game we understood what it was going to be like with the change in league positions last week and Rangers looking to make it a lively start and atmosphere. And you could see they were aggressive from the start.
