Doctor: Rangers player discussed to be out for weeks

Rangers will be taking a careful approach whenever Kemar Roofe makes his return to training, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The Jamaican striker has been ruled out since December with an injury and is still expected to be out for a few more weeks, claims the injury expert.

There were even fears about him possibly needing to retire if he could not return to full fitness.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Timelines and targets, especially when a long time out, are more grey than anything else so it doesn’t surprise me to see some change in his.

It could partly be a case where he is more motivated due to his contract situation but he will still be missing for a few weeks.

His fitness record isn’t the best and the medics will be working hard behind the scenes to be methodical and thorough with his return.

Roofe may not be at Rangers next season

The Jamaica international’s contract at Ibrox runs out in the summer and there’s every chance that the club do not keep him on beyond it.

Had he been fit, there would’ve been an argument to keep him but the fact that he’s only played nine league games this season suggests that he’s not been dependable for the manager.

Kemar Roofe could be on his way out of Rangers.

Hopefully, he manages to turn it around, but given his age of 31, it is going to be a lot harder to escape his re-injury cycle.
