21 G/A striker deserves 9/10 rating as numbers prove he can be Gers goal hero
Few out of the 50,000 or so Rangers fans that attended the 3-1 win over Ross County will have experienced a game like that and, probably, neither will have Cyriel Dessers.
The Gers number nine polarises opinion from one minute to the next but is clearly backed by manager Philippe Clement.
The Rangers boss has been making best use of his squad to keep them fresh but Cyriel Dessers continues to be a player who can frustrate but also be the match winner, all in the same game, as his incredible numbers from last night prove.
Rangers matchwinner Cyriel Dessers deserves to be backed
The 29-year old is now on 14 goals and seven assists for the season, 21 goal contributions at a rate of almost one per game in terms of minutes played.
Just five minutes per goal more than Lawrence Shankland in the league, without taking penalties.
And yet…
Against Ross County, he had eight attempts at goal, scored two goals, hit the post and had one goal bound effort cleared off the line – earning a solid 9/10 on the player ratings.
Let’s be fair to the big Nigerian international for a second, he continues to get into the right positions at the right times.
