Doctor: Rangers player likely to miss Ross County clash as surgery claim emerges

Rangers defender Leon Balogun is likely to miss the game against Ross County as well due to a facial injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the club will have ensured he went through the concussion protocol after the win against Livingston on 3 February.

He missed the games against Aberdeen and Ayr United and is expected to be out of the clash against County on Wednesday, 14 February.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“The club will have a concussion protocol in place that will assess symptoms and then gradually re-introduce activity.

“For his facial fracture, the plan of care and return timeline all depends on the severity of the fracture, if surgery is required and then how extensive the surgery is.

“He will need a few training sessions in before he returns so I reckon he’ll be out for a week or two.“

Rangers return expected soon?

Clement revealed on Friday, 9 February that the defender had gone to see a specialist regarding his injury.

It’s understood whenever he’s back in action, he will be wearing a facial mask.

The 35-year-old has played 11 league games this season for the Ibrox outfit and it remains to be seen whether or not he’s still at the club next
