Manager fully believes 24-year-old will leave Rangers permanently
Cruzeiro boss Nicolas Larcamon reckons Rangers flop Jose Cifuentes will leave Ibrox for good in the summer.
The Ecuadorian made a £1.2m move to Glasgow when Michael Beale signed him from LAFC as part of his recruitment drive for the 2023/24 season.
Fans were excited about the prospect of Cifuentes joining Rangers as highlight reels of his time in America circulated around social media.
However, Cifuentes failed to convince the fanbase and Philippe Clement is clearly not too keen on the defensive midfielder either.
He started 14 of his 20 appearances for Gers, as per Transfermarkt, but was frozen out by Clement before eventually leaving for Cruzeiro in the Brazilian Serie A.
The deal is a loan until the end of the season with the option to buy and Cruzeiro boss Larcamon has been speaking to the press about whether he thinks the club will sign Cifuentes permanently.
Jose Cifuentes permanent exit chances
As quoted in the Daily Record by freelance journalist Mark Walker, Nicolas Larcamon said: “The deal is complete. We have an option to purchase Jose Cifuentes at the end of his loan and I am sure that will happen. He is a very complete player and will bring significant benefits to the team.
“Jose has many qualities to his game. He is very comfortable on the ball and he will bring aggression to the team too.
“He will help our midfield a lot. He will be an excellent addition to the squad and we hope to have him in the team as soon as possible.”
