Alistair Johnston sent a hospital message to Celtic
Alistair Johnston celebrated Celtic’s late win over Hibs from a hospital bed after a nasty collision forced him off.
The defender, 25, took a sore one in a head knock with Hibs’ loan boy Nectar Triantis and was taken off on a stretcher and sent straight to the hospital for a check-up with concussion protocol in full swing. The challenge from Triantis resulted in a Celtic penalty which was scored by Adam Idah before Dylan Levitt equalised in the second-half.
Celts would go on to seal a very narrow 2-1 victory thanks to a second Idah spot-kick after Kyogo was felled and Johnston made sure fans knew he was okay as he shared a snap on Instagram.
It was a major win for the Hoops who have rivals Rangers breathing down their neck at the top of the table. Momentum is now in the Light Blues’ favour as they have a game in hand to draw level, but there were serious celebrations from Celtic’s stars and manager Brendan Rodgers at Easter Road with the significance of the result not lost on them.
