Giovanni Reyna is reportedly set to fly to England today to complete a loan move to Nottingham Forest having seen a switch to Sevilla collapse.

The 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund attacker was expected to join the Spanish giants for the remainder of the season, though this deal has now fallen through at the last second.

As a result, Reyna is now set to make the move to Forest, with the Premier League side linked with a move to the USA international for the majority of the transfer window.

Now, according to the Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, Reyna is flying to England today to complete his temporary transfer to Forest, a deal that turn out to be quite the coup in the coming weeks.

The 21-year-old was once viewed as one of the crown jewels at Dortmund having established himself as one of the German side’s most exciting prospects.

However, injuries have hampered the USA international’s development, yet Reyna could now make up for lost time this season with a breakthrough loan spell at Forest.

Giovanni Reyna will want to impress at Nottingham Forest

It’s been a difficult few seasons for Reyna, with the former New York City FC academy star struggling with injuries and a lack of form for Dortmund despite his obvious qualities.

However, at 21, Reyna still has plenty of years ahead of him to get his career back on track, and Forest could be an ideal destination for the American youngster to return to his best.

Nuno Espirito Santo has proven to be a good fit for Forest, and signing an exciting forward like Reyna could help the Portuguese manager greatly in the final months of the season.

Moreover, Reyna himself will want to impress Dortmund officials and potential interested parties whilst with Forest, with the Premier League the biggest stage of all in football.
