Report: Nottingham Forest change their mind and have two signings they want to make before deadline day
Nottingham Forest have now performed a U-turn on their transfer strategy and would like to make two new signings.
This news comes courtesy of The Athletic.
So, what has been said about Forest – and what business will take place before Thursday’s transfer deadline? Let’s take a look…
Nottingham Forest now want two new signings before Thursday
Well, it would appear as though Forest are now going to push hard to try and sign a couple of new recruits.
According to The Athletic, Forest would like to sign a young goalkeeper and a striker before the transfer deadline.
The goalkeeping situation has become perilous in the last few weeks, with Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos making errors.
At the weekend, Kasper Schmeichel was linked with Forest following rumours that he might sign in the summer.
Forest have also been linked with Peter Gulacsi but it would seem as though a younger option will be sought instead.
The report mentions that Forest would love to get a younger option with the intention of becoming the number one next season.
Forest right to make transfer U-turn
The Telegraph claimed earlier this month that Nuno Espirito Santo would stick with the current goalkeepers that he has at his disposal.
As someone who played in goal as a player, however, it would appear as though the Forest head coach has had enough.
It’s good to hear that Forest are hoping to add a goalkeeper and a new striker – with youngsters in the club’s sights.
Earlier today, Forest were linked with Hugo Ekitike and with this now coming from The Athletic, that makes a lot of sense.
Forest will also have work to do in the other direction and hopefully, a few outgoings can take place on the transfer front before Thursday.
