Rangers are reportedly on the verge of another signing with Lens winger Oscar Cortes now believed to be heading for Ibrox.

Rangers landed a second January signing on Friday with Mohamed Diomande coming in from Nordsjaelland in a deal worth around £4.3million.

Having already signed Fabio Silva earlier this month, Rangers now look set to accelerate in the coming days.

Brazilian left back Jefte has become a key target whilst Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland continues to be mentioned.

A surprise target may now be emerging though with Lens winger Oscar Cortes allegedly on the verge of signing for Rangers.

Colombian reporter Julian Capera now claims on social media that Rangers have struck an agreement with Lens for the signing of Cortes.

It’s stated that Cortes will join Rangers on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy and he is now on his way to Glasgow to finalise the move.

Cortes emerged with Millonarios in his native Colombia, bagging seven goals and five assists in 28 first-team appearances.

The 20-year-old joined Lens for around €4.5million (£3.8million) over the summer but has struggled to make an impact in France.

Cortes has only played four times for the Lens first team but has grabbed one goal and one assist in that time.

Cortes predominantly plays on the right flank but has also featured on the left, as a number 10, as a central midfielder and even up front.

This is another fascinating signing for Rangers if a deal comes off and there has been one major indication that the move is on.

The Colombian FA have today confirmed that Cortes has been pulled out of international duty with the Colombian Under-23’s in order to fly back to France.

Cortes was supposed to take on Venezuela in the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament on Monday, but he has now been ruled out with the idea of completing a transfer.

Rangers are believed to be the club moving in for Cortes and this looks to be another signing with big potential for the future.
