New Rangers negotiations are set while transfer suitors amass a £25 million Bundesliga wealth.
Galatasaray have their transfer coffers boosted by around £25m with the sale of Sacha Boey to Bayern as fresh Ridvan Yilmaz talks are scheduled with Rangers.
The Turkish giants have reportedly had a second bid for ex-Besiktas full-back Ridvan Yilmaz thrown out, with any transfer move now being bankrolled by the sale of Sacha Boey.
Bayern have officially announced a deal for the former French youth international, 23, which is reportedly worth €30m (£25.6m).
Whilst Boey is a right-back, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has previously labelled the signing of a left-back a transfer “priority” this January.
Sacha Boey boosts Galatasaray amid Ridvan Yilmaz links
Naturally, the transfer of Sacha Boey to Bayern has turned heads in Scotland amid those Galatasaray links to Ridvan Yilmaz.
Interestingly, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, who has been very close to the deal, is now claiming talks have been scheduled between Rangers and Galatasaray next week.
Reports have varied with regards Rangers’ valuation of the 22-year-old left-back, who signed a £3.4m rising to £5m deal to join the Gers back in 2022, with the price tag anywhere between €4.5m and €6m (£3.8m and £5m).
Now emerging as an influential player in the side, it certainly appears like Ridvan is in no rush to return to Turkey with the left-back seemingly happy at Rangers.
But manager Philippe Clement has been clear that if the Turks meet Yilmaz’s valuation then Rangers will be very much open to selling.
Rangers left-back transfer merry-go-round
With Galatasaray now banking big on Sacha Boey, it’ll have plenty of Ibrox fans thinking the worst when it comes to Ridvan Yilmaz.
Just as the left-back was beginning to emerge at Ibrox, Yilmaz having experienced a tough 18 months at the club, it appears like the exit door may well beckon.
Money talks in football and if Galatasaray can commit the fee that Rangers believe Ridvan is worth to them, then a transfer deal will likely be done.
Rangers have been strongly linked to a number of left-backs in the January window but the latest reports suggest the club is closing in on Brazilian option Jefte.
The Fluminense defender, 20, is on loan at APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus with negotiations reportedly continuing over a switch.
Long-term Rangers left-back Borna Barisic remains at the club but is also out of contract come the end of the season.
