Aidy White has named who he believes was Leeds United’s standout performer during their FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, with Daniel Farke’s side facing a replay against their Championship rivals

Leeds fans would have hoped that Saturday’s tie would provide a winner. Obviously, they would have wanted the Whites to come out on top. But there are likely to be plenty who feel that a Plymouth win would have been better in the long run than a draw, which adds another fixture to the calendar.

Farke made a number of changes for the game, some of which were forced. With Daniel James injured and Crysencio Summerville rested, Jaidon Anthony and Willy Gnonto came into the side.

Jaidon Anthony the standout for Leeds in FA Cup draw

Anthony, of course, is dealing with the tragic loss of his mother. Remarkably, the on-loan winger has featured in every squad since the awful news. And he got the opportunity to pay tribute to his mum during Saturday’s tie against Argyle.

Anthony did brilliantly to weave his way through a number of defenders and into the penalty area before producing an amazing finish to break the deadlock in the first-half.

Sadly, the referee booked the winger for removing his shirt in the celebration.

The goal was a fantastic moment for the 24-year-old. And speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, Aidy White suggested that Anthony was probably Leeds’ best player over the tie.
