NOTTINGHAM CONTINUES TO BE CONFIDENT IN CLINCHING AN EXCITING SIGNING

Nottingham Forest remain confident that they will land Borussia Dortmund winger Giovani Reyna this month, HITC Football understands.

HITC Football understands that the East Midlands side, who are currently facing issues with Financial Fair Play alongside Sean Dyche’s Everton, are confident they can fend off interest from Ligue 1 side Marseille for the American’s signature.

It seems that with less than a week to go, Forest are exploring the market to see what kind of talent they can bring into the club with the Borussia Dortmund forward believed to be an attainable target.

So much so that, Forest have agreed a deal in principle to take Reyna on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy, as HITC revealed, but Marseille have matched their offer.

Forest remain confident

Despite French giants Marseille entering the race for the American forward there is confidence from the Premier League side that they will win the race to sign the exciting 21-year-old.

Reyna has dropped down the pecking order at the Signal Iduna Park this season under head coach Edin Terzic and the German giants are believed to be open to his departure.

Dortmund have already brought in Jadon Sancho from Manchester United and Ian Maatsen on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season and it seems the German side are now having to cut costs.

Reyna could be key for Forest

Reyna was born in the North East of England whilst his father Claudio played for Sunderland, during a career which saw him also feature for Rangers and Manchester City.

He would represent a rather significant coup for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side as they fight to stave off relegation although it is unclear what their punishment for breaching Financial Fair Play rules will be.

If Forest can get this over the line, it would be a superb signing.
