Nottingham Forest
The news that came out of Nottingham Forest this week shocked Jason Cundy.
Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara have disagreed on the goal which Ivan Toney scored against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The pair have been discussing the incident on NETSPORT.UK.
So, what have the pair of pundits had to say about the situation involving Forest? Let’s take a closer look…
What Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy have said about Nottingham Forest
Well, it’s still a hot topic of discussion on various media platforms and among several pundits.
In shocking news, the Leicester-supporting Gary Lineker found it hilarious and called it ‘clever’ on a podcast earlier this week.
Some, however, have called it cheating – and that is where O’Hara and Cundy come in, with the pair disagreeing about it.
Their transcripted chat on NETSPORT.UK, earlier this week went as follows:
Cundy: “I can’t believe that Nottingham Forest have written and complained to the PGMOL. They have actually written and complained, it’s pathetic. What do they expect to happen?”
O’Hara: “Well, they expect when he puts the ball down for it to say where it was put.”
Cundy: “Well, yes, but Ivan Toney has been smart, it’s clever, he’s been cute.”
O’Hara: “He cheated.”
Debate will naturally run on and on with this one and in our view to call it cheating is perhaps a bit of a stretch.
To move the referee’s foam from around the ball, however, was a little bit unsporting and Toney knew exactly what he was doing.
Forest have to move on from Toney debacle
Regardless of what people think about Forest and their decision to contact the PGMOL, they have to become more savvy.
Although what Toney did was perhaps a little outside the parameters of what is fair, Forest should have reacted.
The Reds must move on quickly ahead of big games against Bristol City in the FA Cup and Arsenal in the Premier League.
It’s nice to hear O’Hara defend Forest in this instance but it’s time for Forest to stop writing to the PGMOL and start focusing on the results at hand.
